Fishing Report

Here Fishy Fishy

There are many reasons why northern California is a fishing paradise - great weather, multiple access points, temperature control devices, etc- and trust us when we say the fish love it here just as much as those on the other end of the rod. Here’s what you can find in ready supply around Redding’s waters:

Steelhead – Having made an epic odyssey to the sea, our Northern California steelhead come back to tempt rods everywhere coastal and below the lake. Look for steelhead in the Trinity River, Klamath River, and the Lower Sacramento.

Rainbows, Browns – Every day brings a rainbow when you’re fishing around Redding. Hat Creek and the McCloud River have their share, as do the Upper and Lower Sacramentos and the Pit River, and the trip out to fish Manzanita Lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park is always worth it.

Bass – Redding-area bass fishing really is just a day at the lake. Whiskeytown Lake’s clear waters will reward your efforts and Shasta Lake’s many coves and fluctuating water levels make it popular for tournaments and those looking to catch their dinner.
