Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Ranger-Guided Kayak and Paddle Board Tours - All Month Long
Summer is here - and that means it's time to get out on the lake! And there's no better way to explore the lake then with Whiskeytown National Recreation Area's ranger-guided kayak and paddle board tours. Offered throughout the month at multiple times of the day, all equipment is provided as you join a Whiskeytown Ranger and paddle the lake. And the best part? It's completely FREE!
Sundial Splash - June 18
You didn't think that "the unofficial capital of kayaking" would stop at only one paddling event did you? Redding's always ready to dip their paddles in the water, and nowhere is that more apparent then the Sundial Splash - an annual community float down the Sacramento River. Open to all, the Sundial Splash sees paddlers come out in droves of rafts, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards for some all-ages family fun.
Redding Colt 45's - All Month Long
Come root for the home team with the Redding Colt 45's, Redding's minor league baseball team. All month long, catch the Colt 45's games at Tiger Field for a fun-filled evening of America's favorite pastime!
Redding Farmers Markets - All Month Long
There's no better start to a summers day then enjoying some fruit fresh off the vine, or indulging in a locally made fresh pastry. And luckily in Redding, you can find both at the same place! Going 45 years strong, the Redding Farmers Market takes place three times a week and is the place to go for locally grown produce and artisan goods.
Redding Health Expo - June 4
The Redding Health Expo features over 100 vendors promoting health, wellness, and nutrition. In addition to the vendor hall, the expo also features giveaways, raffles, a fun run, live entertainment, free samples, cooking demonstrations, and more!
Taste of Redding - June 12
Taste around the city - all in one convenient location! The 15th annual Taste of Redding brings together the best of Redding restaurants, wineries, and craft breweries alongside three stages of live music. It's a local favorite - and for good reason! Redding food vendors always bring a delectable smorgasbord of dishes to this event, and it's a great way to taste some of the best the area has to offer.
Brews by the Bridge - June 17
Brews by the Bridge is a celebration of craft beer with over 10 craft breweries, tasty food, and live music, all centered around the Sundial Bridge. Your ticket even includes a commemorative steel pint and your first glass of beer. Can you think of a better way to spend a summer night?
Shasta District Fair - June 22-25
It's time for the fair! The Shasta District Fair is the largest event in Shasta County, and they pull out all the stops for the occasion. With 4 days of rides, live entertainment, livestock exhibits, vendors, arts & crafts, and live entertainment, the fair offers endless fun for the whole family!
ZZ Top: Raw Whiskey Tour - June 1
Head on over to the Redding Civic Auditorium for a rocking concert experience with ZZ Top! Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, ZZ Top is sure to offer a show you won't want to miss!
Proof - June 3-18
Riverfront Playhouse has been delighting Redding with community theater since 1981. Their latest play - the drama Proof - runs throughout the month of June, and is sure to be a must-see!
Bob Dylan: Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour - June 7
Come see Bob Dylan - one of the greatest American singer/songwriters of this generation - live on stage at the Redding Civic Auditorium! This show is one night only, so you won't want to miss it!
Woody Guthrie's American Song - June 10-July 4
Axiom Repertory Theatre presents Woody Guthrie's American Song. This is the company's second year presenting this ensemble musical - and if it's good enough for an encore, you know it's a must see!
Primus: A Tribute to Kings - June 15
Head on over to the Redding Civic Auditorium for a concert by Primus paying tribute to the band Rush - by playing the entirety of their album A Farwell to Kings! They'll also be playing some of their own music, making for a concert experience like no other.
