Redding Events You Can't Miss in August 2022

Planning a trip to Redding and looking for events, festivals, concerts and things to do in July in 2022? Look no further! August is here and there are more events then ever to choose from in Redding! Here are a few of our favorite Redding events to add to your list.

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Ranger-Guided Kayak and Paddle Board Tours - All Month Long

Summer is here - and that means it's time to get out on the lake! And there's no better way to explore the lake then with Whiskeytown National Recreation Area's ranger-guided kayak and paddle board tours. Offered throughout the month at multiple times of the day, all equipment is provided as you join a Whiskeytown Ranger and paddle the lake. And the best part? It's completely FREE!  

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Ranger-Guided Patio Boat Tours - All Month Long

Looking for a more low-key way to explore the lake? Look no further! In addition to their kayak and paddleboard tours the Whiskeytown rangers also offer weekly patio boat tours on Friday. Hop aboard a patio boat for a free two-hour tour of the lake filled with fun facts about the park courtesy of your ranger guide. You might even get the opportunity to go swimming!

Walk For Wildlife - August 20

Walk for Wildlife is an active, family-friendly fundraiser to help support the animals at Turtle Bay! Explore the McConnell Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and meet the animals up close along the route. Plus there's a complimentary pancake breakfast after the walk!

Moonlight Madness - August 27

Looking for a way to get some exercise, beat the heat, and see some of the best views in Redding? Look no further! Moonlight Madness is an annual 2 mile run/walk across Shasta Dam via the moonlight. Not only is it a fun race, but it's a great opportunity to get some views of Shasta Lake and Shasta Dam that you wouldn't get to see otherwise!

Redding Farmers Markets - All Month Long

There's no better start to a summers day then enjoying some fruit fresh off the vine, or indulging in a locally made fresh pastry. And luckily in Redding, you can find both at the same place! Going 45 years strong, the Redding Farmers Market takes place three times a week and is the place to go for locally grown produce and artisan goods.

Theresa Caputo Live! The Experience - August 3

Head on over to the Redding Civic Auditorium to see Theresa Caputo, star of the hit TLC show Long Island Medium, for a night of healing messages and personal stories.

Roe - August 5-27

Axiom Repertory Theatre presents Roe, a play about the personal journeys of the people involved in the landmark 1973 case Roe v. Wade. "ROE is not a screed for or against abortion…Rather, Loomer’s main theme is the process by which everyday people get swept up in the big currents of history, often with a random dose of chance." 

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue - August 6

Head on over to the Cascade Theatre for Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue. This concert is an experience like no other, with performances that blur the lines between funk, soul, R&B, and psychedelic rock.

Jim Gaffigan: The Fun Tour - August 10

See six-time Grammy nominated, three-time Emmy winning comedian Jim Gaffigan live at the Redding Civic Auditorium. You're bound to leave laughing!

Josh Turner: On the Lawn - August 18

Head on over to the Redding Civic Auditorium for an outdoor country concert with Josh Turner! Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and enjoy food and drinks from a variety of local food trucks.

Lukas Nelson & POTR - August 21

Come rock out at the Cascade Theatre with Lukas Nelson & POTR who have wowed audiences and won fans with their fiery stage performances and singular sound, which smoothly straddles rock and roll, country, soul, folk and R&B.

Buckcherry - August 25

Come see Buckcherry at the Redding Civic Auditorium for a night of exhilarating hard rock and a show you won't want to miss!

Anjelah Johnson-Reyes - August 27

Spend the evening laughing with stand-up comedian Anjelah Johnson-Reyes at the Redding Civic Auditorium. It's sure to be an unforgettable show!
