Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Ranger-Guided Kayak and Paddle Board Tours - All Month Long
Summer is here - and that means it's time to get out on the lake! And there's no better way to explore the lake then with Whiskeytown National Recreation Area's ranger-guided kayak and paddle board tours. Offered throughout the month at multiple times of the day, all equipment is provided as you join a Whiskeytown Ranger and paddle the lake. And the best part? It's completely FREE!
Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Ranger-Guided Patio Boat Tours - All Month Long
Looking for a more low-key way to explore the lake? Look no further! In addition to their kayak and paddleboard tours the Whiskeytown rangers also offer weekly patio boat tours on Friday. Hop aboard a patio boat for a free two-hour tour of the lake filled with fun facts about the park courtesy of your ranger guide. You might even get the opportunity to go swimming!
Walk For Wildlife - August 20
Walk for Wildlife is an active, family-friendly fundraiser to help support the animals at Turtle Bay! Explore the McConnell Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and meet the animals up close along the route. Plus there's a complimentary pancake breakfast after the walk!
Moonlight Madness - August 27
Looking for a way to get some exercise, beat the heat, and see some of the best views in Redding? Look no further! Moonlight Madness is an annual 2 mile run/walk across Shasta Dam via the moonlight. Not only is it a fun race, but it's a great opportunity to get some views of Shasta Lake and Shasta Dam that you wouldn't get to see otherwise!
Redding Farmers Markets - All Month Long
There's no better start to a summers day then enjoying some fruit fresh off the vine, or indulging in a locally made fresh pastry. And luckily in Redding, you can find both at the same place! Going 45 years strong, the Redding Farmers Market takes place three times a week and is the place to go for locally grown produce and artisan goods.
Theresa Caputo Live! The Experience - August 3

Roe - August 5-27
Axiom Repertory Theatre presents Roe, a play about the personal journeys of the people involved in the landmark 1973 case Roe v. Wade. "ROE is not a screed for or against abortion…Rather, Loomer’s main theme is the process by which everyday people get swept up in the big currents of history, often with a random dose of chance."
Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue - August 6

Jim Gaffigan: The Fun Tour - August 10
